At the end of a crazy day, the extra step of washing my face can feel like a daunting task. The owner of the 24/7 Spa in Sun Valley, Idaho (where I got one of the best facials I’ve ever had), gave me a solution: Peter Thomas Roth Max Complexion Correction Pads. I keep the container next to my bed for the lazy nights, and I give my face a thorough wipe down and call it a day. The salon owner explained to me that normal wipes leave a residue that causes breakouts. Can I vent a sec and say that I can’t stand the fact that, at this age, I still have to worry about breakouts? But these medicated pads come to my rescue. They remove oil, makeup, dead skin cells, and pollutants; they refine pores and minimize fine lines. They also clear up blackheads and help to prevent future breakouts—plus they have a great peach bellini smell. Anyway, I hope you like them, because I’m in love! They are also great for travel, by the way.
A container with sixty pads costs about $39. Gulp! Huge leap in price from the cheap ones I used to get from Costco. In this case, I guess it’s a “get what you pay for” situation. The active ingredients are salicylic acid (for acne treatment) and glycolic acid (an exfoliant). The pads also contain witch hazel, green tea leaf extract, chamomile, peach fruit extract, and aloe vera. If you are pregnant, you want to avoid high doses of salicylic acid, so check with your doctor before using these.
Do you have a product you are crazy about? Please share! I’m always excited to hear what everyone else uses and loves.
